Crescent Moon Mermaid
We can assume this painting depicts one of the merfolk bearing a beacon to guide those lost at sea. The odd details here of the bright blue eyes, shape of the head of the merfolk, and the crescent moon symbol on it's chest suggest this is a not a painting done by pirates.
